Steve Howdle is fashion photographer specialising in Hair and Beauty advertising for global product and tool brands.
He started his professional photography career in 2000 and by mid 2002 was shooting his first commission for BaByliss Professional. His reputation quickly grew not only within the hair industry but also the photographic trade recognised his rapid rise. Working initially with local salons then major brands such as Hempz, Wella, Redken and HABIA he has created advertising images, editorials and images for educational text books.
Steve's attention to detail and his meticulous lighting techniques have earned him the reputation as a 'lighting guru' which has led to him not only carrying out seminars for the Swiss studio lighting manufacturer Elinchrom but he is also a popular speaker in colleges, universities and for professional groups around the UK and Europe.
Recently this reputation gained him a commission from Lord Halifax to shoot rare artworks for a limited edition book printed by Christies of London.
Steves work ethic and affable nature have gained him the respect of clients and the photographic industry alike. His passion for his craft is reflected in the work he does for organisations such as the British Institute of Professional Photography and The Master Photographers Association. The latter have recently awarded him their highest qualification, a Fellowship, in recognition of his fashion photography.
